Lyprinol by integrative therapeutics is a wonderful product for joint health made from New Zealand Green Lipped Muscles. Chock full of the nutrients needed to grow and protect cartilage this product has helped many of my patients turn the corner on osteoarthritis problems.
Hylauronic Acid is great for skin, connective tissue and joints, It is helpful for arthritis, eczema, and healing certain sports injuries. Healthiest Teas
Black, green, white, chinese, herbal no matter what's your cup, this ancient brew may be a remedy to many of your health problems including high blood pressure, heart disease, and cancer. The health benefits of tea started in China over 5,000 years ago. Today, tea is the second most commonly consumed beverage after water.
all teas contain bioflavoids such as: polyphenols these are highest in green tea, which contains a potent antioxidant substance known as: epigalloctechin-3-gallate or EGCG is lost in the fermentation process of black or oolong teas. EGCG has been known to fight cancer cells in the laboratory. White tea, is a most delicate tea, that is unfermented as well. The antioxidants in white tea are fragile so that white tea should be steeped for just two minutes to avoid losing its health benefits.
Regarding caffeine: black tea is almost equal to coffee at 200 mgs per cup while green tea has one/tenth the amount. Oolong is between the two. Most experts suggest 300mgs of caffeine per day as tops which is about 8 5 oz cups of green tea.
Health Benefits: Similar health benefits are found with all types of tea but green tea has been most studied and seems to have even more health benefits such as:
Benefits to arthritis sufferers by slowing down joint inflammation
Tea may reduce atherosclerosis and the risk of heart attack
green tea may prevent cold and flu symptoms by increasing immune activity
green tea may enhance fertility in women trying to conceive
green tea may reduce cholesterol levels
weight loss can be enhanced for some by the consumption of green tea
Downsides are few for tea but should be mentioned: insomnia and/or anxiety may be increased due to the caffeine content, incontinence may be increased due to its diuretic effects, stomach ulcer or esophageal problems may worsen, blood sugar levels may be increased in some people due to increased cortisol. Anemic people should avoid drinking tea with meals as their ability to absorb iron may be inhibited, teeth can become stained although all types of tea are anti-plaque and greatly help periodontal disease.
Brands I like are: Stash, and Twinings, I bring tea back from china when I travel there and order it on a regular basis. Lipton teas and green tea has been used in many of the research studies done here on teas.
My Best to You!
