DHEA Saliva Hormone Test by Meridian Valley Lab - Free Shipping
Holistic Doctor Recommended Saliva collection is generally stress-free, non-invasive, and allows for frequent measurements. It is ideal for testing situations where a series of discreet measurements would be useful.
Salivary testing measures the free (unbound) portion of hormones.
This method is excellent for plotting diurnal/rhythmic hormonal curves when multiple saliva collections are performed within a single day, week or month.
Not recommended to monitor a bio-identical hormone replacement regimen. Yields supra-physiologic laboratory levels when taking most exogenous hormones.
No consultation is included with this test, results will be sent to you. To have your results evaluated and receive diet and supplement recommendations, please contact us to schedule a consult with our Naturopath/Nutritionist!

Gallbladder Food Allergy Panel by Meridian Valley Lab - Free Shipping
“SAVE MY GALLBLADDER” A NEW FOOD ALLERGY TEST PANEL
“What’s this headline? Can it possibly be true that a test for food allergy can save me from surgery to remove my gallbladder? My doctor and the surgeon he referred me to for the gallbladder surgery both say this claim is obviously nonsense and quackery.”
Apparently physicians who say that haven’t read or even heard of the reported research on this topic. The researcher was Dr. James C. Breneman, who was for many years of the 20th century the Chairman of the Food Allergy Committee of the American College of Allergists, not likely a position to be held by “quack doctor”.
Dr. Breneman’s report tells us that patients with either surgical or X-ray evidence of gallstones were “placed on elimination diet therapy to determine if there were certain guilty foods not generally suspected of causing gallbladder symptoms. All of these patients, 100 percent, were free from all gallbladder symptoms while they were on the basic elimination diet. Gallbladder symptoms recurred in 83 percent of the patients when eggs were added to their diets. The foods in order of their guilt are as follows: egg, pork, onion, fowl, milk, coffee, orange, corn, beans, and nuts; less frequent were apple, tomato, peas, cabbage, spices, peanuts, fish, rye, and medications.
Since reading Dr. Breneman’s research reports and books in the 1970s, I have shared this information with individuals suffering from gallbladder attacks who’ve been told they should have their gallbladders removed, encouraged them to determine what their individual food allergies might be, and then (of course) eliminate them. As Dr. Breneman would have predicted, everyone followed this recommendation had no more gallbladder symptoms at all after their food allergies were totally eliminated.
BE AWARE
As quoted above, Dr. Breneman listed “medications” as the smallest percentage of potential allergens which could trigger gallbladder spasms (“attacks”). Unfortunately names of specific medications are not mentioned in his book or research report; for this reason they are not included in the test panel. If you are taking any medications—particularly patented or formerly patented medications—please check with your physician skilled and knowledgeable in natural medicine before discontinuing any medications.
Also be aware: Some individuals whose gallbladder symptoms have been eliminated by adherence to an allergy-free diet are told that despite that, they should still have their gallbladders removed because “the gallstones might cause trouble in the future.” However, as noted in the article on another page of this newsletter, a major medical journal article concluded (in the 20th century) that if a person had gallstones but no pain, so-called “silent gallstones”, it’s best not to operate as the risks of surgery are greater than the risk of blockage of the bile duct. Have seen no contradiction of this conclusion in either the 20th or 21st centuries.

Product Information
Per the manufacturer, Thorne Research products are not available for sale online to the public. Please call us for more information.
Optimal gastrointestinal tract functioning is vital to the absorption of nutrients, elimination of waste, and proper immune function.* Many health-care practitioners consider gut function and especially good gut ecology – maintaining a healthy balance of gut flora, the microorganisms that normally live in the digestive tract – to be a key component to overall health.* Many situations can contribute to an imbalance in the microbial flora of the digestive tract, including an unhealthy diet, inadequate digestive enzymes, oral contraceptives, and the use of various prescription and OTC drugs. Increasing recognition is also being given in women's health to the relationship between gut flora and vaginal flora; i.e., a healthy balance of gut flora has corresponding benefit to the vaginal flora.*
Fatty acids have been used for centuries to help maintain a healthy balance of the microorganisms that normally live in the gastrointestinal tract.* In the last 50 years, fatty acids have demonstrated effectiveness in supporting a healthy gut flora in a number of studies.*
Holistic Doctor Recommended Thornes Formula SF722 Undecylenic acid (10-undecenoic acid) is an eleven-carbon, mono-unsaturated fatty acid occurring naturally in the body's perspiration. While several fatty acids have beneficial effects on the flora that naturally inhabit the gastrointestinal tract, undecylenic acid is the most potent.*
A Thorne Research innovation, Formula SF722 contains undecylenic acid in a base of pure, extra-virgin olive oil. Formula SF722 aids in the establishment of healthy gut and vaginal flora and has been one of Thorne Research's best-selling products for over two decades.*

Lipid Panel by LabCorp - Free Shipping
Holistic Doctor Recommended
Test Includes
Cholesterol, total; high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol; low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol (calculation); triglycerides; very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL) cholesterol (calculation)
Special Instructions
State patient's age and sex on the request form.
Patient Preparation
Patient should be on a stable diet, ideally for two to three weeks prior to collection of blood, and should fast for 12 to 14 hours before collection of the specimen.
Causes for Rejection
Hemolysis
Use
Evaluate hyperlipidemia as an index to coronary artery disease
Limitations
Patients with obstructive liver disease may develop lipoprotein abnormalities. Serum lipid factors have not been demonstrated to have a strong influence on recurrent stenosis following coronary angioplasty, the pathogenesis of which is presently not well understood. LDL cholesterol cannot be calculated if triglyceride is >400 mg/dL.
Additional Information
Investigation of serum lipids is indicated in those with coronary and other arterial disease, especially when it is premature, and in those with family history of atherosclerosis or of hyperlipidemia. In this sense, the expression “premature” is mostly used to include those younger than 40 years of age. Patients with xanthomas should be worked up with lipid panels but not those with xanthelasmas or xanthofibromas in the sense of dermatofibromas. Those whose fasting serum is lipemic should have a lipid panel, but the serum of a subject with high cholesterol (but normal triglyceride) is not milky in appearance. The patient with high cholesterol (>240 mg/dL) should have a lipid panel. Patients with cholesterol levels between 200−240 mg/dL plus two other coronary heart disease risk factors should also have a lipid panel.1 In addition to application in screening programs for evaluation of risk factors for coronary arterial disease, lipid profiling may lead to detection of some cases of hypothyroidism. Primary hyperlipoproteinemia includes hypercholesterolemia, a direct risk factor for coronary heart disease. Secondary hyperlipoproteinemia includes increases of lipoproteins secondary to hypothyroidism, nephrosis, renal failure, obesity, diabetes mellitus, alcoholism, primary biliary cirrhosis, and other types of cholestasis. Decreased lipids are found with some cases of malabsorption, malnutrition, and advanced liver disease. In abetalipoproteinemia, cholesterol is <70 mg/dL.
