Holistic HPV Doctor Recommended
Beginning in India and China, tea has been cultivated for centuries. Second only to water, tea is the most widely consumed beverage in the world. There are three main varieties of tea, black, oolong and green. Green tea is suggested to have the most health benefits, currently being researched in coronary artery disease, inflammatory bowel disease, diabetes, liver disease and support for weight loss. More commonly, green tea is used for its powerful antioxidants. Green tea's support for immune system health comes from the powerful antioxidants called polyphenols. These antioxidants fight free radicals which are damaging compounds in the body that damage DNA, change cells and possibly cause cell death. It is thought that free radicals also contribute to the aging process as well as the development of health problems including heart disease. The polyphenols found in green tea extract neutralize these free radicals and may reduce or prevent the damage they cause.
Catechins found in green tea have been shown to provide a number of health-promoting benefits:
Catechins are antioxidants with the ability to scavenge reactive oxygen species such as superoxide and the hydroxyl and peroxyl radical
Catechins have fluid stabilizing properties
Catechins may promote weight loss
Green tea can boost the effectiveness of enzymatic phase II detoxification
Catechins appear to help maintain healthy cell proliferation
Helps maintain healthy blood cholesterol & triglyceride levels
Regenerate tissue
